Quality Assurance Lead

This is a W2 temporary position with a well-known client, starting ASAP.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Minimum 3-5 years of test and/or development experience
  • Experience testing complex multi-tiered web based systems and complex data-driven web applications
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Experience testing against relational databases systems
  • Able to work independently with limited direction at times
  • Solid understanding of QA/Test Best Practices and Defect Management
  • Able to provide estimates for testing activities
  • Black/Grey/White box testing experience

Job Requirements

  • Understanding of Web Security best practices
  • HTML, CSS, Javascript, Browser Platforms, Database/SQL Server
  • T-SQL experience for data creation and validation
  • Database profiling
  • Basic database administration
  • Basic understanding of .NET/C#
  • Test Automation experience with Visual Studio or nUnit
  • Able to build custom test applications and/or test scripts for automation

Senior Java Developer

This CONTRACT position with a large well-known client starts ASAP and will last 4+ weeks.

Primary Role

  • Provide leadership in the design and coding phases of a Java-based software development project while functioning as the escalation or focal point to resolve technical obstacles to project completion.
  • Provide state of the art expertise in Java development and associated technologies; mentoring team members as may be necessary.
  • Work closely with business analysts and user experience designers to ensure that the system adheres to functional requirements faithfully and is compliant with appropriate coding practices or standards to ensure delivery within project timeframes and budget.
  • Communicate project status, design/development decisions, raise issues and identify development risks effectively.
  • Utilize Agile development processes in design, development and deployment.
  • Familiarity and comfort in working with offshore and remote teams is preferred.

Job Requirements

Software development process, technical team leadership, project management, web supporting technologies with demonstrated ability to lead a team of 1 to 4 delivering development projects within schedule and costs. The Sr Developer is escalation point of internal technical obstacles and is expected to code the more complex portions of the project.

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree.
  • 5+ years successfully delivering software design and development projects using Java technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of the Java programming language and the J2EE framework.
  • Broad expertise across all the tools and frameworks within the Java ecosystem including Apache, Spring, MVC, Struts etc.
  • Experience with development best practices including continuous integration, test driven development, refactoring etc.
  • Awareness and skills in data base development are a plus; SQL with stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of the software requirements and development lifecycle.
  • Ability to develop and validate documentation for system and software requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in application design, inter-personal communication and coding
  • Knowledge of software testing.
  • Strong communications skills (both written and oral)

Junior Front-end Developer

This position is initially a W2 temporary full-time position that will convert to permanent full-time in the future.

You will be working with project management, design and programming teams to work on front-end development for a large well-known client.

Primary Role

  • Using the client's Content Management System (CMS) to enter content into forms and validating/tweaking generated HTML pages.
  • Building web pages (HTML, CSS and simple Javascript/jquery) from scratch based on creative graphic files.
  • Basic web page debugging.
  • Understanding and applying existing styles to new HTML pages.

Job Requirements

You must be a fast learner, open-minded and flexible, detail-oriented, and a problem solver. We need someone that takes pride in delivering quality, but understands the time trade-off associated with a quick turn-around. Are you dependable? Do you have ambition to be a top-notch developer?

  • Core knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of jquery a big plus (but not required).
  • You should be able to work both independently and as member of a team, and must demonstrate skills to solve problems with no or little supervision.
  • You must demonstrate a great attention to details and the ability to follow documented coding standards. Being quality focused, eager to learn new skills, and able to respect a timeline by skillfully managing workload are also a must.

Web Technical Architect

This CONTRACT position with a large well-known client starts ASAP and will last 4+ weeks.

Primary Role

  • Develop, document and implement software architectures.
  • Technically lead and mentor software development teams.
  • Explain application architecture decisions and their rationales to client management and technical teams.
  • Proven ability to lead small to medium sized development teams.
  • Acts as a Development Manager and Mentor for assigned technology staff.
  • Manages technical implementation tasks, time and resources.
  • Ability to accurately estimate implementation effort required based on available information.

Job Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of project experience performing software development, including at least 2-3 years of project experience architecting applications, with the following expertise:
    • Leadership: Excellent team building and leadership skills. Excellent communication skills. Highly self-directed. Able to multitask given incomplete and conflicting knowledge.
    • Expertise in Content Management systems like Adobe/Day CQ, Interwoven, or SiteCore is a plus.
    • Experience with Agile development methodology is a must
    • Web Application Architecture: Expert knowledge of the domain.
    • Knowledge and experience in architecting and developing e-commerce systems.
  • Working ability to perform requirements elicitation, requirements analysis using use case modeling, and requirements specification as a supporting member of the requirements team with emphasis on requirements impacting persistence.
  • Development expertise in the Java web application development platform.
  • Knowledge of databases and data modeling is necessary.
  • Knowledge of basic system and network administration tasks is necessary.
  • Working ability to identify architecturally significant requirements and their ramifications.
  • Proven capabilities in all software development phases is a must.
  • Consulting experience is a must.
  • Work with interactive agencies and knowledge of brand, creative and user-experience competencies is a plus.
